Good Call!

As believers we shouldn’t be afraid to stand up and speak biblical truths, and don’t let calls of ‘Don’t judge!’ make you shrink back.  Warning/correcting/exhorting/admonishing others of sins against the LORD is not judging others – it’s educating or reminding them of how they will be judged on Judgment Day.

We are called by the LORD to warn/correct/exhort/admonish others when they are sinning against to Him. In fact, we are told that if we don’t warn them, we could be held accountable for their sin. “If I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will surely die,’ but you do not speak out to dissuade him from his way, then that wicked man will die in his iniquity, yet I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you warn the wicked man to turn from his way, and he does not turn from it, he will die in his iniquity, but you will have saved your life.” Ezekiel 33:8, 9

Remember that John the Baptist was jailed & beheaded because he called out King Herod for taking his brother’s wife, and Jesus said that there was no one greater born to women than John.  Jesus didn’t hesitate to call out sinners and hypocrites as well. In Matthew 23:33-36 Jesus said, “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape the sentence of hell? Because of this, I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and others you will flog in your synagogues and persecute in town after town. And so upon you will come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. Truly I tell you, all these things will come upon this generation.”

Acts 20:31, Romans 15:14, 1 Corinthians 4:14, Colossians 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:12, Titus 2:4, etc.
